Over the last five years I and some friends set out in helping two charities by raising money through doing an 8 mile walk. This was designed so that 50% of all money went to each charity. On presenting a cheque of over £1,500 this year to the Royal Marsden we were informed of their efforts to raise money for the children's Oak Centre. Where they require about 15 new life saving monitors, which cost £1,500 each.
Two of us had been talking about doing a long trek for sometime, so we decided that we would aim to raise the money for one of these monitors. So here I am asking for you help. Times are hard for all of us at the moment but time is running out for these children. So please help me to help them.
All proceeds of the walk will go to the Oak Centre for Children with cancer. The walk covers 100 miles of the South Downs Way, from Eastbourne to Winchester. I am hoping to cover this distance over four days, five at the most.
Please give generously as this is your chance to help a very needy cause. This wonderful unit does an enormous amount of great work for the children and their families.
