Ramadan Aid - Yemen
"And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, [Saying], "We feed you only for the countenance of Allah. We wish not from you reward or gratitude." (Holy Quran 76:8-9).
In Yemen, a child dies every 10 minutes from preventable causes. After 5 years of continuous conflict, Yemen is experiencing the largest humanitarian disaster in the world with 24 million Yemenis needing humanitarian assistance including 12 million children.
400,000 children in Yemen are severely malnourished meaning they're at a higher risk of pneumonia and diarrhoea.
Orphans Fund is raising funds to provide urgent food parcels to vulnerable families including widowed mothers, orphaned children, the elderly and ill living in the most poverty-stricken and destitute areas of Yemen.
One parcel costs £35 and includes essential food items such as,
Rice, sugar, cooking oil, tomato paste, spaghetti, flour, dates, and tea leaves and will feed a family of 5-6 people for the whole month of Ramadan. With your help, we plan to raise enough funds for 5000 hampers.
