Story
This summer my mum passed away, after living for a few years with dementia. I've seen for myself how cruelly this disease can limit the abilities of those we love. I feel lucky that at least my mum's true character and spirit continued to shine through until the end. My mum is now in peace and my memories are restored, to her in her prime as a loving mother, wife, faithful friend and business owner. I hope that a cure can be found to save the indignity and distress that dementia brings to so many people at the end of their lives.
The past 6 months have been tough for everyone, but coronavirus has hit people affected by dementia the hardest and continues to disrupt lives. So that's also why I'm taking on Step Up for Dementia alongside my colleagues across the insurance industry to walk 10,000 steps a day. Please donate to support me and ensure Alzheimer's Society can be there for the people who need them most, and to fund their vital research to find a cure. Thank you for helping me make a real difference!
