Story
Unfortunately, at some stage in our lives, we will all encounter the effects of cancer in some form, either through our own experience or through the experiences of a family member or a friend. In the last year, I have lost both a parent and a friend to different forms of cancer.
In their memory, I am running/walking 2020 miles in 2020 for DCH Chemotherapy Appeal, working out at about 39 miles a week.
What is the aim of Chemotherapy Appeal?
- The best possible environment for patient care.
- Improved experience for all patients.
- Flexible treatment areas.
- Additional recovery rooms.
- Space for family and friends to accompany patients during treatment.
- Future capacity to meet patient demands.
- Highest quality of treatment facilities
Who will benefit from this appeal? All Chemotherapy and Haematology patients treated at Dorset County Hospital.
Any donation you can give for this local cause will be greatly appreciated.
I'll be signing up for various races over the year to keep the mileage up and posting regularly on social media to let you know how it's going/how knackered my legs are. There are 2 rules to ensure no cheating:
- The runs/walks have to be GPS tracked, meaning all runs/walks must be outside (obviously going to regret that in the colder/wetter months!)
- The runs/walks have to be shown on Strava to count.
