Story
I'm not the fittest, fastest or most streamlined - but I am persistent and hopefully that'll be enough! This October I'll be riding a massive 1000+ miles along the climb-filled coastline of Portugal - starting in Bilbao and ending in Faro.
The ride is in support of the Steve Bernard Foundation which fundraises for incredible sporting projects across the UK's south coast. However, for me, it's a very personal ride...
My dad was my hero, without a doubt. One of his biggest sporting achievements was in 2015, when he rode (for the same charity) the incredible distance from Rome to the UK. Sadly in Sept 2022, my dad lost his battle with cancer - despite every best effort a person could put in. He never let the cancer stop him though, as he still conquered the Great Wall of China mid-Chemo!
Around 12 months before he passed we learnt about this ride and I made a promise that I'd go in his place. I think it also made him happy to think I'd be getting off my arse for a worthy cause.
Please help me in this challenge by supporting my fundraising efforts. I've got a £1,000 target to achieve and I'm certainly going to sweat it out on the training side. I'm also happy to take on challenges or pranks if that'll help raise more for the event!
