Story
Across the Queen Elizabeth, Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull Hospitals as well as NHS Nightingale in Birmingham our 20,000 members of staff are working tirelessly to care for our patients. Our staff are staying at work for you, and are asking you to stay at home for them but your donations will help us support them and the NHS in this critical hour of need along with them having to deal with everything the corona virus is throwing at them they also had to put up with me this year because on 26/02/2020 in the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Birmingham I had a heart transplant, my heart had become too big and soft to be able to pump blood around the body properly and so because of this my liver and kidneys were also starting to fail. I was near enough on deaths door and I’m only still alive thanks to the British heart foundation and the NHS. I spent a huge portion of the start of the year lay in a hospital bed frustrated that this happened and that I didn’t feel like I’d ever be able to live a normal life again, at the time of writing I’m around twelve weeks post operation and my recovery is going better than I ever could’ve hoped for and so to say thank you to everyone involved I am going to bike to Skegness from Alfreton on 22/08/2020 (this is just a rough date if the lockdown is still going on and the hotels aren’t open then another date shall be arranged but it’s going ahead this year regardless of the time or year I just need enough time to build my fitness back up.) If you could help out and donate anything that you can no matter how big or little I’d greatly appreciate it and it would make a huge difference. Thought I’d get the ball rolling early so I can get the word out as much as possible. Thanks for reading, over and out!x
