Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our Itsa Mouse and the Cake House JustGiving page.
Itsa Mouse and his friends are often homeless, a situation that terrifies them and makes them vulnerable to the elements and to all kinds of danger, so they want to help change that for young people who through no fault of their own are in a similar situation.
Itsa Mouse thinks that Christmas is the most wonderful time of year because it's a time when everyone can do something small to make others happy by giving - even just a little. By donating to Itsa Mouse's fundraising campaign you will not only make him and his mouse friends very happy, but you will also make life significantly better for young homeless people, too.
Our new book 'Itsa Mouse and the Cake House'' is a beautifully illustrated children's chapter book that tells the heartwarming tale of five adorable mouse friends and how a cake changed their lives!
The book contains some important themes, such as homelessness (especially over the festive period and through the winter months).
It felt essential (having been in foster care myself as a child and homeless as a young adult) that alongside highlighting homelessness we do something to help young homeless people.
We will be donating 10% of our profits from until December 31st 2026 and are encouraging our young readers to give some pennies from their pocket money to this cause too. So, buying a copy of 'Itsa Mouse and the Cake House' to give as a gift, means that YOU give twice - once to the recipient and then to Centrepoint when we donate 10% to our fundraising campaign. What could be better?
If you have any amount that you can spare, please consider doing so as:
- £12.50 could help Centrepoint answer a young person’s call to their Helpline, investigate their issue and follow up with solutions to avoid homelessness
- £15 could help provide a comfy bed and mattress and give someone their first decent night’s sleep in months
- £40 could help pay for an initial mental and physical health assessment so that a young person gets the support they urgently need
- £65 could help pay for textbooks and course supplies, helping a young person study for college and build a new future for themselves
- £100 could help provide a counsellor to support homeless young people – this could be the first person they’ve trusted in a long time
We aim to raise as much as possible, with a starting target of £100, which will be raised each time we achieve our aims.
