Story
As part of Italik’s 20th Anniversary celebrations we are raising as much as possible for the Multiple Sclerosis Society. It seemed appropriate to select this charity as one of our colleagues, Paula, has been diagnosed with the condition and has been unable to work as a result. MS is a neurological condition where the immune system attacks the nerves by mistake. It damages nerves in the brain and spinal cord. Paula is one of more than 100,000 people in the UK living with MS.
In June three team members already completed the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge and raised £1075 towards our target.
Our next challenge was ‘500 Miles for MS’. Everyone set their own 'Miles for MS' distance challenge to complete during the weekend of July 27th and 28th. Walk, wheel, arm cycle, swim, cycle, run, row… as long as it was self-propelled., and Italik donated £1 for every mile covered.
We then worked with our Office team in Manchester to host a whole fundraising day - bake sale, raffle, bake-off competition and lots of cake eating, raised another £1,000.
