Story
Phil
Myself, my brother Nick O'Keeffe and friends are raising money in memory of our brother Phil O'Keeffe who sadly passed away on 11th of January 2022. The much needed money will go to Sarcoma UK because Phil would have wanted his legacy to help others.
Phil was diagnosed with an alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma a very rare form of cancer in September 2020. He endured nine rounds of chemotherapy, followed by radiation therapy at University College Hospital Macmillan Cancer Centre. Despite the efforts of all those involved, just three weeks following completion of treatment, a PET scan showed that the cancer had spread. Phil did then go on to have more treatment in London and in Dublin but unfortunately this treatment was not successful and Phil returned to his home in Ireland in December 2021, spending his last Christmas with his family and loved ones before passing away in January 2022 at the age of 28, 16 months following his initial diagnosis.
Throughout his treatment he showed incredible bravery, courage and strength. Despite every set back, he carried on with the optimism he was always known for. Sadly, despite exploring every avenue, there was nothing that could save Phil.
Phil will be remembered by all of those who knew him for his infectious smile and booming laughter. He was a pleasure to be around and we will miss him every day.
Sarcoma UK is our chosen charity as Phil was diagnosed in the UK and the majority of his care was in the UK. We want to raise money to help further research into this rare disease and provide resources and means for those fighting this cancer. We feel that providing funding to this charity will better serve people from Ireland, the UK and further afield.
The Challenge - 4 Peaks in 48 hours for Phil
Myself, my brother Nick accompanied by a group of friends, will attempt" The four peaks challenge". This will involve climbing the highest peaks in each of Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England in 48 hours. The four peaks are as follows

We will also be arranging a number of smaller fundraising events in the coming months and welcome the use of this page for any other fundraising you have in mind.
Please note all funds raised will go directly to the charity.
