I am glad to announce that this May, I am going to run my first marathon: the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon. I will also run in memory of my late mum Karin who was born on May 14.

My goal is to raise money to fight Motor Neurone Disease (MND), also known as Maladie de Charcot in French. MND is an illness that traps its victim in their own body, leaving their mind as sharp as ever but their body unable to move. Raising money for research and to help people living with this illness through sport and movement is the way that comes to me most naturally. 

While you may not want to or be able to contribute financially, I'd like to invite you to run, walk, cycle or swim your own challenge on the same date. As long as you're in movement, you're fighting MND too. And of course, please share this far and wide, as every little helps.
