Hi guys - thanks for visiting my Just Giving page! 

I am taking part in Tough Mudder Half on 24th September, in just three weeks time! I'm very excited and also terrified but I will be doing it in memory of my Uncle John, who was the loveliest - so incredibly cool and talented, kind and clever, brave and funny and passionate and wise and generous. He passed away in April quite suddenly and way, way too soon after a battle with a form of Amyloidosis - a disease which causes proteins to build up in organs and tissues and can eventually result in organ failure. 

Uncle John became so ill, in his last days he was unrecognisable, completely reliant on help from nurses to take care of him, unable to eat or to be touched. It was bloody awful and there is currently no cure, so much research is needed to find out more about this horrible disease and prevent other people from suffering like my lovely uncle. 

If you are able to sponsor me (even just a tiny amount!) and help me to raise some money to support the Amyloidosis Foundation in his memory that would be amazing and hugely appreciated, and will definitely help keep this claustrophobic, fairly unfit librarian going when it gets tough and muddy.
