Story

**UPDATE; ISABELLA COMPLETED THE RUN IN JUST OVER 12 MINUTES. THANKS TO EVERYONE THAT SPONSORED HER, SHE IS DELIGHTED TO HAVE RAISED SO MUCH MONEY FOR BLISS 😃👍🏻🏃

Thanks for taking the time to visit Isabella's JustGiving page.

Isabella was born very prematurely at 28 weeks on 17th November 2007, she weighed  just 998 grams and was so small, her tiny body could fit into the palm of my hand.  She  spent the first months of her life in the Neo Natal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Burnley General hospital.  At six weeks old Isabella suffered a set back and was transferred to Pendlebury hospital in Manchester where she had an operation to correct a rare genetic condition called pyloric stenosis, she was (at the time) the smallest baby the surgeons had ever operated on as her weight was only 4lbs. Isabella is a fighter and stunned the doctors by her quick recovery, she was transferred back to the care of  the NICU at Burnley and was finally discharged in February 2008. Isabella is my third child, my other two children were term babies so I had no idea what to expect when I had Isabella, we often found the terminology the doctors used difficult to understand and we didn't really know how to care for a premature baby. One of the parents in the unit suggested I look on Bliss website. It was fantastic and answered all the questions I had running through my mind, and has a A-Z terminology list that came in handy!  Bliss is a fabulous charity for babies that are born too soon so please support Isabella in her quest to give something back by donating whatever you can.

Bliss is the leading UK charity for babies born premature or sick. We rely on donations to fund our work but with one baby admitted to neonatal care every five minutes we don’t have the resources to reach every baby who needs us. Your donation can help Bliss ensure every baby gets the best care.
