Story
What does Hugh Grant, Alison Steadman and The Rossi Family have in common?
We all received the care of a Marie Curie nurse for our loved ones!
We are walking 10 km in memory of my mum - the one and only "La Contessa".
My mum died of lung cancer at the age of 65 years old - it was an exhausting time and one evening we were fortunate to have a wonderful Marie Curie nurse knock on our door at 10pm - she cared for mum for nine hours - this enabled me, Chloe and Lorraine (my wonderful friend who helped me care for my mum during her illness) to get a good nights sleep.
The Walk Ten event celebrates a Marie Curie nurse starting her shift at 10pm in the evening to care for terminally patients and support their loved ones. The service is free. It costs Marie Curie £180 to provide this service.
Please help me and Fran raise £180 to provide one night of nursing care so that other families can have the support of this wonderful service.
