RCN 1062559 (England & Wales), SC039757 (Scotland)
We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

<p><span style="color: #000000;">As you may know I have spent the last few months clocking up 100s of miles on my bike in training for the Ride Across Britain.&nbsp; <a href="http://www.rideacrossbritain.com/">http://www.rideacrossbritain.com/</a></span></p> <p><span style="color: #000000;">On the 11th June I am&nbsp;going&nbsp;to ride from John O'Groats to Lands End in 9 days&nbsp; - a total of 950 miles - covering an average of 110 miles a day.&nbsp; It's going to be tough and it's going to make me very tired and grumpy but hopefully the money I raise for charity will keep me motivated.&nbsp; </span></p> <p><span style="color: #000000;">I have chosen to raise money for the&nbsp; <strong><span style="font-family: &quot;Futura Bk&quot;; mso-ansi-language: EN-US;" lang="EN-US"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Teenage Cancer Trust which&nbsp;helps young people fight cancer.</span></span></span></strong></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%; margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: &quot;Futura Bk&quot;; color: #000000; mso-ansi-language: EN-US;" lang="EN-US"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Every day six young people in the UK are told they have cancer. &nbsp;Usually placed on a children&rsquo;s ward or with elderly patients, young people often feel extremely isolated when facing a cancer diagnosis, never meeting another young person going through the same thing. Teenage Cancer Trust believes teenagers shouldn&rsquo;t stop being teenagers because they have cancer, so we fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals that allow young people to be treated together with others their own age, in an environment suited to their needs.</span></span></span></p> <p style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><span style="line-height: 150%; font-family: &quot;Futura Bk&quot;; font-size: 11pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US;" lang="EN-US">Teenage Cancer Trust units aren&rsquo;t like ordinary cancer wards. Their home-from-home atmosphere helps create a sense of </span><span style="line-height: 150%; font-family: &quot;Futura Bk&quot;; font-size: 11pt;">normality.&nbsp; </span><span style="line-height: 150%; font-family: &quot;Futura Bk&quot;; font-size: 11pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US;" lang="EN-US">The state-of-the-art units are bright and vibrant and will often include things like pool tables, jukeboxes, games consoles, computers and webcams, ensuring they can keep in touch with family friends outside hospital. Alongside all of this is a medical team of teenage cancer specialists whose knowledge creates a body of expertise that&rsquo;s second to none.</span></span></span></p> <p> <p><span style="color: #000000;">Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.</span></p> <p><span style="color: #000000;">Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
