Story
On 26 March I will be taking part in the BIG BED DOWN CHALLENGE to raise money to support the Cardinal Hume Centre's work helping young people and families facing homelessness.
The Cardinal Hume Centre has been a life line for vulnerable people during the pandemic, remaining a home to 40+ young people who otherwise would be homeless, running safe play sessions for vulnerable families, providing emergency food vouchers to over 600 people and delivering expert advice to ensure families remain in their home.
I really value the time at the hostel and the help with structure. I wanted to change before, but struggled because I was surrounded by negative influences. I know now that I need accountability, not pressure to keep moving forward.
- James,18, came to live in the Centre's hostel when he became homeless following years of neglect
My Big Bed Down Challenge will see me see give up my bed in solidarity with the thousands that sleep rough or sofa surf in Britain each night. It will raise money for the Cardinal Hume Centres vital work.
£10 Can pay for a cooking class for a young homeless person
£30 Can support a family to stay in their home
£50 Can pay for bedding and towels when a young person moves into their new room.
Please sponsor me what you can, as I give up my bed and help to tackle poverty and homelessness.
Thank you for supporting me Isaac
