Story

Bats continue to face huge challenges in terms of their long term conservation. Thanks to amazing supporters such as you we are able to continue to work to make sure that bat protection is taken seriously. This of course with the backdrop of widespread misconception and misunderstanding of bats. In 2015, OnePoll carried out a survey that showed that bats are the 3rd least favourite mammal in the UK, after mice and rats! It also showed that 1 in 5 people either dislike or hate bats. While fear and misconceptions rapidly spread and remain rooted for many generations to come, respect and appreciation for bats takes a long time to nurture. At Bat Conservation Trust (BCT) we devote ourselves to not only change these negative perceptions of bats but also to conserve bat populations and their habitats. But we cannot do this without your support. Please donate to help bats; your donation, big or small, does make a difference. Photo (c) Hugh Clark/www.bats.org.uk

We are the leading NGO solely devoted to the conservation of bats. Bats play a vital role in our environment but during the last century have suffered severe declines. We are working to secure the future of bats by tackling threats such as persecution, loss of roosts and changing land use.
