To my friends, family, clients, and colleagues:

It has been YEARS since I competed in an endurance event and raised money for charity. I have missed it. So, I AM BACK! This time, I am competing in one of my favorite races for one of my favorite causes: Chrysalis. 

This year's event will be Ironman Arizona, which takes place on November 22, 2021. The race will be comprised of a 2.4 mile swim, followed by a 112 mile bike ride, with a full marathon to top it all off (a 26.2 mile run), all through beautiful Tempe, Arizona. This will be my fourth, and I am ready to tackle this! It has been a few years since my last Ironman, so, well, I am a little rusty. 

Now, a little about Chrysalis. Their website -- changelives.org -- says it all. But now I will say a little more . . .

The challenges faced by the homeless in the United States is not only a problem that many of us see every day, including those of us in our great city of Los Angeles, but it is also one that is very personal to me. Chrysalis fills a need that NO ONE can dispute is of such great value. Their sole mission is to help the unhoused reconnect with the workforce and become employed and self sufficient. There is no such thing as unemployable to Chrysalis and the stories of success they share bring tears to my eyes. Thousands of homeless in Southern California are brought back into the workforce every year thanks to Chrysalis, through resume assistance, job search help, interview preparation, skill building, case management, or even giving someone access to a computer to apply for jobs. They even have a massive closet full of interview clothes, and, lest you think this all stopped when COVID19 hit, you are wrong. They turned on a dime and are still helping thousands out of homelessness. I do not care your political persuasion: this is one key step in helping those in our community not as fortunate as us.
