Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
In the Summer of 2000 I had a snowboarding accident in New Zealand which smashed my L1 vertabrae, crushing one side and tearing bone apart on the other! I am exceedingly lucky to have been operated on successfuly and retained full mobility.
In recognition of my good fortune I now raise money for Spinal Research, a charity aiming at fixing broken spinal cords. So far I have raised money for them in the London 10k and 2 London Triathlons as a team and individually. The IRONMAN is the ultimate endurance triathlon: 3.8km swim, 190km bike, 42km run - a great challenge for me and a great opportunity to raise money for Spinal Research.
Race Day has come and gone...it was fantastic! The Dorset sunshine made it a great day for all competing and spectating. I had a strong swim, finishing in under 1hr ahead of several professional athletes, but the leg injury I carried into the race niggled away on the bike slightly hampering my performance. After 6hrs30m I finished the 112miles and trotted off to attempt my first ever marathon! Driven on by vocal support and the generosity of my donors I crossed the finish line in 11hrs and 58 minutes, a very happy man. I'm still collecting to reach my target, so thank you for taking the time to visit my page and supporting Spinal Research.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Spinal Research will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support :-)
