Story
As you are probably now aware I am attempting Ironman 70.3, a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile cycle finished with a 13.1 mile run in Wimbleball, Exmoor. Widely considered the toughest of all the Ironman courses.
The reason I have been so idiotic as to put myself through this is to raise money for GOSH. Many of you who are reading this, will know that our daughter Olivia has Microtia. A rare condition that means the right ear did not form properly during pregnancy. We visit GOSH regularly for help with her hearing and although we can never fully repay them for all that they have done, I would like to give something back.
GOSH is an amazing hospital and one that relies on peoples generosity and support through donations and fund raising. It is an extraordinary and unique hospital with children from all over the world receiving life saving and life changing operations daily.
We are very lucky in the UK to have GOSH, but it has a never ending need of donations to help raise the minimum £50million a year it needs to provide this world class care.
If you can spare anything then please, please donate. To give an example of what we can achieve by donating:
10p a mile- could be more than enough to buy a neo natal mask.
50p a mile- could help towards an operating microscope.
£1 a mile- could buy three toys specially adapted for children to help with their rehabilitation.
£500 - could buy a respiration monitor to track a child’s breathing.
Thanks for taking the time to visit the Ironman Maskell JustGiving page.
