Story
Ironman triathlons are regarded by many as the world hardest endurance race. This July I will be travelling to Zurich, Switzerland to take part in the Swiss Ironman. The race is made up of a 3.8km swim, 180km bike ride and a 42.2km run that has to be completed in under 16 hours without rest. My training started last September and having endured many dark and cold winter mornings and nights, summer and the race day (25th July) is fast approaching so I thought it a good time to start getting some sponsorship.
At Home In The Community is a charity based in the North East of England that provides support and full time care to adults with learning disabilities. It does this by providing domiciliary care, independent support living
and residential care and also by promoting understanding in the
community of the needs and aspirations of people with learning
disabilities throughout Tynedale and Tyneside. Its work in my local area is invaluable and this is a great opportunity to support them. Please use this page to show your support for my efforts by donating what you can, and tell as many people about
this site as possible by emailing them my justgiving link. It really will encourage me with the training,
especially in the early mornings, to see donations being added. If you would like to know more about At Home please feel free to contact me, markbodger@hotmail.com.
Finally I would like to say a massive thanks to my main sponsor Fentimans Beverages (www.fentimans.com). Without their help I really wouldn't have the chance to participate in this fantastic race, I owe them a great debt of gratitude.
Many Thanks,
Mark
