We are powered by people. We’re here to find a cure and improve lives, together.

Story

In early 2021 we lost our much loved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, John Heath, to Covid following a long battle with Parkinson's and dementia.

To raise much needed funds for Parkinson's UK, Iris - his wife of 65 years - is taking on a mammoth physical challenge in his memory.

Iris will, with the aid of the virtual walking challenge app Conqueror Challenges, be walking the equivalent distance of the entire coastline of the beautiful island of Lanzarote - over 120 miles.

Iris and John made the Spanish island of Lanzarote their home for over 20 years before returning to the UK due to John's declining health. The island holds an incredibly special place in Iris' heart, and walking the virtual distance around the entire coastline is a challenge that perfectly honours John's memory and their lives together.

Please do support Iris in her walking challenge, that she hopes to complete over the course of two months. We will keep all supporters updated with her progress during the weeks of her challenge. Iris and the whole family are hugely grateful for your support.

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.
