Story
The Chartwell Children’s Cancer Trust supported our family throughout our 13-year-old daughter’s 18-month battle with Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma six years ago. Unfortunately, this was an extremely rare form of childhood cancer which eventually took her from us on 26th December 2016. Throughout our daughter’s treatment, the Charity Trust provided much needed support and assistance to our daughter, and additional support to our family after her passing. This support ranged from the provision of isolation ward playroom equipment as distractions during treatments and organising activities for our daughter and other cancer children outside of their treatment, to more personal cancer family counselling and bereavement support after her passing. The CCCT were an amazing support for me and my family throughout Annamaria’s battle.
Through fundraising, The Chartwell Children's Cancer Trust provide a range of support services including, capital projects, equipment, training and medical staff in our local hospitals. The CCCT also fund Childhood Cancer Support Groups for children and their families in similar situations at such a difficult time.
