Story

Back in January, as a collective new year’s resolution, a group of us decided to run the Wilmslow Half Marathon.
Since committing to the run and starting training, one of our best friend’s dads, Mike Morley, lost his 4 year battle against cancer.
Throughout this period Mike showed unbelievable strength and resolve. The initial diagnosis gave Mike only a few months to share with his friends and family. Mike fought for many years; witnessing the marriage of Ash and Laura, the arrival of two beautiful grandchildren, Alexis and Ruby, as well as sharing endless cherished moments with family and close friends.
Mike was a dedicated and relentless fund raiser during this time. In his role as chairman of the Pelican Golf Society, Mike organised many fund raising events in aid of The Christie.
As a tribute to Mike’s character and legacy, we have decided to dedicate our run to Mike and his family. We too will be raising funds for The Christie, a charity whose efforts enabled The Morley’s to create lasting memories of their years together and enjoy some of the finer things in life. Mike was a dedicated family man, a true people person who enjoyed nothing more than being close to those he held dearest. Mike always made time for friends and family. Our gratitude to The Christie is endless. Any contribution that we can make in tribute to Mike and his family will be received with the sincerest of thanks.
Although some of you may not know Mike, unfortunately this is a story that is likely to touch us all in some small way. The ground breaking work carried out by The Christie continues to change lives and create special memories. Please donate what you can. This great cause means so much to us all.

Sorry to keep increasing the target. We are all so overwhelmed by your generosity that we don’t want to lose the momentum. Please keep donating. Ash and the rest of us are truly humbled by your kind support.
Thanks again
