The last year has been a difficult year. After losing my guide, my hero, my father, I have been lost. The only solace I have found was making dua for him, the comfort of my family and doing good in his name.

Our family recently donated towards a fully integrated village in Tharpakar, Pakistan. I was fortunate to visit this project with Human Appeal and witnessed an installation of a solar powered water well, distribution of 20 pairs of milking goats to widows, farming tools and seeds, the installation of lighting and electricity and the construction of toilets.

Having seen the duas being performed by the people of tharpakar for my dad Haji Nazir Awan (laali), I am even more determined to do good in his name and continue his legacy. 

We have once again joined forces with Human Appeal and will be constructing an entire school in my father's name. The school will be built in the deprived and rural area of Bhimber in Kashmir. My father understood the importance of education and I know this project would make him so proud. 

The funds we give will include the construction of the following:

Kindergarten to middle school 4 -14 years

350 students

10 classrooms

Principal office

Staff room

Finance office

15 teachers

1 principle

2 admin staff

1 finance officer

10 toilets 

2 storey building (with potential to build a third floor)

Approx 16200 square feet of land 

The running costs for the school for the first year including the education of 350 students (with a quota of around 10% orphans)
