The veterinary profession in Northern Ireland lost a valued member earlier this year when NIVA president Jean Wales died suddenly from a heart attack.  This was a massive shock not only to Jeans close family and friends but to the profession as a whole. 

NIVA has therefore decided to hold an event in memory of Jean.  The event will be a charity dog walk and BBQ at Shane’s Castle, Antrim on 3^rd September.  This family event was one that Jean was keen to run in her year as president and therefore is a very fitting
memorial to her. 

We understand that not everyone will be able to attend the organised event but they may still wish to pay tribute to Jean by making a donation on this page to Northern Ireland Chest, Heart and Stroke.
