Story
On the 23rd March 2001 our brother Colin McGinty was murdered at the age of 21.
Colin was a hard working, polite, entertaining young man who had his whole life ahead of him.
In August 2019 Colin should be celebrating his 40th birthday but he cant!
My family and friends have decided to do something to honour Colin's memory and to mark this occasion.
I have recruited a team of approx. 50+ mixed ability runners who are taking part in the Rock 'n' Roll half marathon that is happening on the 26th May'19 in Liverpool.
You may think why not a full marathon, well let me tell you when I say mixed ability I really mean it. Some of our team have ran marathons in the past and others (like me) are literally starting out. We all have a training plan and are busy working towards our goal. By the 26th May we will all be at the half marathon level and will do it together as one team.
Lots of people have got in touch with me to ask how they can get involved. Some are not able to physically get involved and have expressed an interest in sponsoring our team.
With this in mind our team have decided to work with Cash for Kids specifically in Liverpool. Any money raised will go directly to Cash for Kids it will be used across Liverpool to help less fortunate / disadvantaged children.
