Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 23rd October, I am stepping out of my comfort zone and running the Great South Run, in loving memory of my 6 year old Nephew Alfie Bear. It is a 10 mile run, and I have never run before and training has started from scratch.
Alfie tragically passed away on the 02nd June 2014, after a brave battle with an inoperable brain tumour called Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG).
Every 9 days, a UK child will sadly be diagnosed with DIPG. It is both inoperable and currently incurable. DIPG has a 0% survival rate and the median survival time is just 9 months.
Despite my nephew's devastating diagnosis, he got up every day and found a reason to smile. He never gave up, and through Alfie's Journey fund, we will continue Alfie's fight.
All money raised for Alfie's Journey Fund goes to The Brain Tumour Charity to support paediatric brain tumours, to help children affected by DIPG. Please consider sponsoring me to help make a difference to future children, diagnosed with this devastating disease.
Thank you ♥
