Story
On 3rd March 2018 our beautiful baby daughter Darcey was born by emergency caesarean - the doctors did the best they could but we were told she only had hours to live - in those precious few hours she met her family, her Grandparents and Uncle included. Darcey cuddled her Mummy and Daddy and we even managed to get her Christened. Despite her short little life she was so loved. Darcey will remain with us in our hearts always.
The grief you feel at this kind of loss is overwhelming; there are many things you have to navigate through, but we are not alone. The people at SANDS work to create an online community where other grieving families can support each other; they offer online and phone support - they are remarkable people. In a world where baby-loss is such a taboo subject and so many find it hard to talk to us, it is good to have a safe space where we can open up.
Therefore I decided to raise some money in memory of Darcey for this great cause.
As most of you know I am a keen mountain biker - so taking on a biking challenge would have been the obvious choice... but that wouldn't have been as much of a challenge - so having never been a runner before I decided to run the London Marathon. Training has started really well but I need to get to the full 26.2 miles so I am sure your donations will spur me on to get out and get training and ready.
Thanks so very much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page - we are so grateful for all the support we have received during this past year from all our friends and family.
With all our love Phill, Becky and all of Darcey's family xxxx
