Story
As you know Bill recently sadly passed away.
What some may not know is that Bill was diagnosed with aortic stenosis a number of years ago.
For those not aware, aortic stenosis is one of the most common and serious valve disease problem. It is the abnormal narrowing of the aortic valve opening restricting the blood flow from the ventricle to the aorta.
Unfortunately, there are no medications that can reverse aortic stenosis. It is a progressive, serious and potentially life-threatening condition if left untreated with the only cure being to replace the diseased valve once that stage of the condition is reached. It is referred to as the 'silent killer' as it is often misdiagnosed and undertreated.
Seven million people in the UK live with heart and circulatory diseases, these diseases are responsible for more than a quarter of all deaths. In making a donation to the British Heart Foundation in memory of Bill's passing your gesture will go some way towards funding essential research, better detection and future prevention, treatment and cures for these conditions.
Bill also had lung cancer so there is also a JustGiving page for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation should you also wish to share your donation with that equally worthy cause.
