Story

It's been said many times that supporting Lee Mead brings much more than music and entertainment into the lives of his fans. It also brings friends and shared adventures.

One such friend was Sal Kirkham - a formidable lady with a dry wit and a generous heart, a real character who made us think as often as she made us laugh - so we received the news that she had passed away on Christmas Day with immense sadness.

The many fans gathered in a hotel bar post-show in Milton Keynes this past weekend raised our glasses to Sal and shared our memories of other times in other towns when she had been with us, our thoughts very much with her family and all who loved her.

She will be much missed by all who knew her and it was suggested that a donation in her memory to Equal People Performing Arts (the charity behind The Mushroom Theatre Company of which Lee is patron) is a gesture she would have appreciated. Hence this page, which I'm hosting on behalf of the wider group simply because I already had a JustGiving account.

Please remember Sal in whatever way feels right - you should certainly not feel any obligation to donate, but if you do choose to, be assured that Equal People and MTC will make excellent use of the funds.

Rest in peace, Sal.
