We are raising money in memory of Charlotte Comer who tragically died in July 2021. She was a wonderful friend, sister, daughter and aunt. She had the biggest heart and was always looking for ways to help others. She was a nanny, she worked with children with additional needs at Manor Green school and trained for a time to be a paediatric nurse. Most recently she was working as a physiotheraphy assistant at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital. Her biggest passion was volunteering for Great Ormond Street Hospital with her therapy dog Erin.
Charlotte suffered from Body Dysmorphic Disorder. This is "characterised by a preoccupation with one or more perceived defects or flaws in appearance, which are unnoticable to others". When she was out she couldn't bear to look in mirrors and believed that everyone was staring or laughing at her. She struggled with an eating disorder, self harm, and at times was unable to leave her house because the anxiety was so bad.
Before her death, her greatest wish was for there to be more understanding and support for people with BDD so that they wouldn't have to suffer as she did.
Please consider donating anything you can. Thank you. We miss you so much Charlotte.
