Frank Edward Hames finally lost his long battle with heart disease on 18th January 2021. He fought bravely for many decades and underwent numerous surgeries including multiple bypasses and valve replacement, and the British Heart Foundation played a vital role in the research that allowed such procedures to take place.

He always made it clear that he would rather his family and friends show their support once he left us by donating to the BHF than buying a floral tribute. As he always said, "what good are flowers to me, I'm not going to see them, am I?"
