Story
انا لله وانا اليه راجعون
to Him we belong, and to Him we shall return.
On Thursday 7th April 2022, our beloved grandfather Riaz Ul Haq Rana departed from this world and started the journey to his Lord.
Our loving Nana/Dada was the head of our Family and the light of our lives. His absence has left a gaping hole in our hearts, but we are thankful that he was called back by his creator peacefully in the blessed month of Ramadan. May Allah (swt) forgive him and grant him infinite mercy, make his grave spacious and bright, and enter him into the highest abode of Paradise. Ameen
The best gift one can give to our loved ones is Sadaqah Jariyah and plentiful dua, whilst also gaining the reward of giving charity.
The Prophet ﷺ said, “When a person dies, all their deeds end except three: a continuing charity, beneficial knowledge and a child who prays for them.”
With this in mind, we have chosen a water project to fund as a Sadaqah Jariyah for him.
In the holy month of Ramadan, we request that you support our efforts to fund a Water Borehole in Malawi that will provide clean and safe drinking water to tens of thousands of people within the village and surrounding areas.
Thank you for your kind and generous donations. May He (swt) accept it from us and make it a means of attaining His pleasure.
Ameen.
About the Project:
The borehole water system is a long term solution to the lack of rainfall and drought. The absence of rain means people have no water to drink, cook or clean, their crops fail, their livestock dies and this eventually leads to starvation and death.
A solar powered immersion pump is installed, this drills hundreds of metres into the ground reaching aquifers within the depths of the earth. From here 70,000 litres of clean and safe drinking water is pumped up and stored in a water tank above the ground. The tank has two pipe trails coming out of it. The first is connected to a watering station for people where the water is accessed via taps. People can come here to fill up their cans. The second pipe leads to a water trough where livestock can drink from. This is also a vital component of the project because feeding the livestock ensures the livelihoods of these people are safe and alive.
This project costs a total of 10,000 GBP, once completed, it will be able to provide thousands of people with clean water for drinking, cooking, cleaning, watering their livestock and their plants. This borehole is expected to last up to 100 years providing families with Water for Life.
