British Heart Foundation, London to Brighton Bike Ride 2019 · 16 June 2019 ·
Hello,
A few months ago I decided I wanted to do things that pushed me outside my comfort zone and made me challenge my physical ability. I recently completed my first 10km *mini fist pump* maybe not a huge challenge to most but for me, this was a biggy. (For those who know me there is a fair amount to get moving!)
Sooo hanging up my running, okay lets be honest fast walking, shoes for now I turn to my only true cardio love .... the bike. (No vertical running here!). So I googled the London to Brighton bike ride to see how far it was - 54 miles in case you were wondering. Thinking this couldn't be right, I converted it into KM *swifty converts back to miles*, feeling sleep deprived following a night shift and adventurous I signed myself up before I could change my mind.
AND THEN I dragged these two in with me.
Heart disease affects us all in some way shape or form. Whether this is through family and friends or through the work we do. I look after tiny babies who need research to continue and care to develop in order to survive. Jodie looks after adults who are relying on the work that has already been done.
With extra wide, extra padded gel seats on order and Lycra on hold (Something about fat bottom girls..?!) and Queen providing the sound tracks on the day - how hard can it be?
So please help us raise a little bit of money to support a worthy cause.
Just £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist!!
