Story
THE CAUSE
In Gaza, there is an acute water crisis. Over 90% of households have a tap where clean water once flowed, but today the water is no longer safe to drink.
Gaza needs regular safe and clean water supplies urgently not only for the domestic needs of families but to run the health facilities too. Please donate generously
In sha 'Allah on 25/07/21, I will be cycling from Stratford -London to Hastings in order to raise funds to support vulnerable families. The £ will be used to set up small businesses to help families come out of poverty for good (more info on this project of Muslim Charity is available here: https://muslimcharity.org.uk/zakat-for-business-startups). This challenge was originally set to support beneficiaries in *Bangladesh, Pakistan and Yemen*.
HOWEVER, I AM DELIGHTED TO CONFIRM THAT *GAZA - PALESTINE* HAS BEEN ADDED TO THE LIST OF COUNTRIES THAT WE WILL BE SUPPORTING!!!
We will be providing small grants to families to set up small businesses as well. This will be part of Muslim Charity's recovery and rehabilitation phases of projects in Gaza, Palestine.
We know that your help has incredible power to truly uplift people and help them escape the extreme poverty and suffering that they are facing. While short-term interventions such as providing food are important to help people survive, longer-term projects are essential to ensure that people and families do not remain trapped in cycles of deprivation and poverty.We believe that a form of business startup for families helps them truly be empowered, and gives them the ability to earn a sustainable livelihood that will enable them to flourish. The business startups model provides families with a financial grant that they will use to establish a small business locally.
