Story

I'm raising funds for a Breast Cancer Screening and Awareness Centre in Jhelum, Pakistan - the latest ambitious project by Rehmat Medical Aid

Last year 30 of us raised over £10,000 for RMA(Rehmat Foundation).

"Team Rehmat" stole the show at the Windsor Half Marathon and we raised enough money to cover 300 Free Kidney Dialysis treatments for patients at RMA's Kidney Dialysis Centre.

This year, it's just me.

Breast cancer is a major stigma in the region and women can be ostracised by their family or community. Many feel the need to conceal this from their family out of shame, or simply not go to a doctor. The plan is to build a Centre where women can be screened discreetly and also be taught how to help their friends and families check themselves regularly.

Rehmat Medical Aid (Rehmat Foundation Charity Projects) is a 100% non-profit charity, based in Jhelum, Pakistan. If not for this charity, many of it's patients would end up selling all their possessions to pay for 2 or 3 treatments a week, many others would sadly die from their illness.
