Fusion#1 seeks to raise money for the Children's Cancer Wards E39 and E40 at Nottingham University Hospital. Donations to Ward E39 help to make sure that being in hospital is less scary and more fun for children. On the Children’s Cancer Ward, gifts support improvements that make a real difference to the experience of familes who, for a period in their life, call the Ward ‘home’.

Donations enhance bedside facilities for patients and their loved ones, and also fund televisions and age-appropriate games for children– which provide a welcome distraction from hospital life. Donations also fund an ongoing programme of activities for young cancer patients. Pamper days, music and art workshops, craft activities and baking sessions bring fun to children who are too unwell to leave the hospital.

Donations also provide whole families with trips out, some of whom have been unable to have a ‘normal’ family day out for months on end. Such experiences mean the world to these families.

Having a child in hospital is one of the most stressful experiences a family can ever have to face. That’s why, at the end of 2016, Nottingham Hospitals Charity launched the BIG Appeal for Nottingham Children’s Hospital, aiming to raise £4 million in the next five years to enhance children’s care and research new treatments. Support for the Children’s Cancer Ward gets us one step closer to achieving this goal – thank you!
