Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Working as Head Gardener and horticultural therapist at Oswestry Horatio's Garden I have seen first hand the huge difference the gardens make for patients and their guests going through enormous and life changing experiences.
Horatio’s Garden is a national charity creating and maintaining beautiful gardens in NHS spinal injury centres to support everyone affected by a spinal injury. They grow thriving communities to support patients, their families and friends facing long stays in NHS hospitals.
Donating will help the charity to continue to offer an amazing service of beautiful gardens and therapeutic activities for patients with spinal cord injuries.
John Muir was a Scottish born explorer, adventurer and environmentalist. He recognised the value of nature and the interconnectedness of all things. He worked tirelessly to save and protect wild places and persuaded President Roosevelt to create the first national park in Yellowstone.
By walking this trail I hope to raise money to support Horatio's Garden to provide opportunities for patients with spinal injuries to connect with nature through beautiful gardens and horticultural therapy.
'Everybody needs nature to play in and pray in where nature may heal and cheer and give strength to the body and soul alike.'
