Ruils is a charity local to me, run by, and for, disabled people. Ruils supports disabled children and adults, the elderly and people with long-term health & mental health conditions to live independently, be part of their community and to live life to the full.
The pandemic hit Ruils' disabled and elderly clients hard, leaving many struggling with isolation and anxiety. Waiting lists for support services are extremely long.
Counselling at Ruils provides a safe and supportive space for parents of disabled young people, or those who are disabled or have mental health conditions themselves, to discuss their concerns and find ways to cope. The service is unique locally, as it is free of charge to those who need it the most.
I'm joining Ruils' virtual London Marathon team, walking 26.2 miles from central London to Hampton Court, to raise funds for their Counselling Service. Please give me some support along the way by sponsoring me as generously as you can.
Thank you.
