Fundraising for Raleigh International Trust
Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In February 2015 I will be heading off to India for 10 weeks to volunteer on a development programme. I will be working alongside volunteers from the UK and volunteers from India to develop sustainability, water sanitisation and improving health and safety. This is part of International Citizen Service (ICS), which brings young people together to fight poverty and make a difference where it is needed most. ICS works with communities that have specifically requested their help. It also aims to inspire young people in the UK and overseas to become active citizens who are passionate about long term community development.
This is by no means a holiday. Im going to be living a very basic lifestyle for 10 weeks and working hard to improve the health and lifestyle of a rural community in Southern India. I need to raise £800 for Raleigh International; all the proceeds go towards helping the community that I will be working with.

One of the challenges Im going to undertake is 'Live Below The Line' challenge. Just like the 1.4 billion people around the world who have less than a pound to live on each day, I will be feeding myself on £1 a day for 5 days. As Im such a foodie this will be a tough challenge for me to undertake.
