Story
Thanks for supporting my fundraising.
When I was a teenager, my lovely Mama was diagnosed with breast cancer. This was a terrifying time for all of us. Following the diagnosis came tears, treatments, and many many hospital trips. Luckily, she made a full recovery and is now in remission.
I am raising money for Macmillan to thank them for the support they offered my family during such an impossible period of our lives. I hope that in raising money, I can help Macmillan to support others who are in a similar situations.
Some words from my mum below:
'When I was first diagnosed with an aggressive breast cancer, a Macmillan nurse was tasked with supporting me and my family, and would be my main point of contact throughout my treatment. From the beginning, she held my hand and also the hands of my (then) husband, parents and sometimes children, explaining, supporting and listening. I spoke to her many many times about anything and everything to do with the illness, the treatment and much more, and she guided me through the whole thing. She also pulled me back from dark and anxiety-ridden places, and without her I'm not sure how I would have coped. I was so lucky to have been able to have had her with me for the many months of my active treatment.'
Any donations would be very very gratefully received, thank you. <3
