Story
I am doing the 3PeaksChallenge on the 2nd-4th July in order to raise a minimum of £680 for the incredible charity Hft in partnership with Bristol University.
Hft supports more than 2,200 adults with learning disabilities across Great Britain to live independently, establish relationships and find jobs. The personalised care that they offer enables individuals to thrive and live the best lives possible.
On the 2nd of July, my team and I will travel up to Fort William and stay overnight. The next day, we will climb Ben Nevis and then all climb into the van and drive to the Lake District to climb Scafell Pike in the evening. Shortly after, we will drive to Snowdon in time to see the sunrise on the summit before climbing back down to the finish. In total, I will climb 5,200 feet whilst covering 25 miles - all in 36 hours!
With the money I am hoping to raise, it could fund buying an adapted bike - giving people a chance to exercise and spend time enjoying the outdoors or the installation of an epilepsy sensor in their bed to rapidly alert staff if a seizure is detected. These small adjustments can transform peoples' lives and enable them to lead their lives freely.
