Story
Imagine Independence’s mission is to value people, challenge stigma and transform lives. We support people with mental health needs and learning disabilities to achieve their goals - we do not believe that anyone is defined by their diagnosis or health condition. We aim to enable people to live a full and independent life. We believe everyone is entitled to have good mental and physical health, and a respected place in society - with no-one excluded based on prejudice or misunderstanding.
Our group consists of 13 people who are currently on the NCS programme. On Tuesday 27th of July, we are doing litter picking on Formby Beach for the whole day. This improves the wellbeing of the local community to make the world a cleaner place. We are doing a sponsored walk from the Albert Dock to Otterspool and back which is 16km, on Wednesday 28th of July. On Thursday 29th of July, we are hosting a fun day in Calderstones park, which will include several events, e.g football tournament, sports day, bake sale, and raffle. All of this is for the Imagine Independence charity which support people struggling with mental health.
