Story
Hello! I'm Joe from IGN, and I was due to run in the annual London 10K on July 5, to raise money for Special Effect. As you might expect, that event's no longer going ahead, but the charity has set up a virtual 10K, asking participants to run the full distance on their own (safe and socially distant) routes. So I'm doing that.
This is where you come in - Special Effect is an incredible charity, working to make video games accessible for those with physical disabilities, utilising everything from controller modifications to eye-tracking control, and much more that I can't possibly understand because I'm not clever enough. I urge you to watch some of the charity's videos to see how important and powerful this work is.
Anything you can give to support this incredible cause would be hugely appreciated. As you may be able to tell from the image above (taken directly after a recent training session for this race) I am not what you'd refer to as a "natural athlete" - but I try and take part in this race every year because I truly believe in Special Effect's work.
Thanks so much for reading, and for any donations you can make.
Oh, and if you'd like to set up your own fundraising efforts, here's where to sign up and race along with me.
Cheers,
Joe
