Jesus House is a charity with a passion to undertake projects all over the world that will improve the lives of the poor, downtrodden and underprivileged people in the societies where these projects are undertaken. We aim to create a “conscious awareness” of the social issues of poverty, injustice and related issues.

As a member of the CSR International team, we are raising funds to send our youth on a mission trip.  This trip is organised in partnership with Good Shepherd Homes (GSH), a charity we closely work with; based in the in the cities of Pune, Talegaon and Nasik in West India. It is targeted at sending a team of 14, 14 - 18 year olds and chaperones passionate about making an impact in the lives of other less fortunate children in Pune and Mumbai.

Statistics show that there are more than 110,000 street kids in these geographical areas and for 14 years, Good Shepherd Homes has provided secure and safe home environments, quality education and career opportunities for street children. GSH not only takes children off the street, but the charity helps children to start working towards their own future. Today, the GSH operation is expanding from Pune, India into neighbouring areas with bases in 4 towns and cities, including a transit home, an ambulance outreach and a large scale children's village in Parandwadi, Pune.

Last year, the church was able to sponsor a jeep to enable the Good Shepherd Homes Mobile Unit to supply the children with food, water and first Aid supplies and support. Our hope and expectation is that this mission trip will enable our team to make a contribution to transforming the lives of these children, with the view to touching their lives in a distinctive way. The team will be teaching them English, skills in photography, football and in other areas.
