Story
I am now participating in the Royal Parks Half Marathon race through four Royal Parks in London this coming Sunday 6th October. Please be as generous as possible with your sponsorship. The money will be donated to create “Schools of Hope” in Nairobi.
The Mount Kilimanjaro Challenge was really hard to do but I managed it with the help of my team members and I sincerely thank everyone who sponsored me.
I will be taking part in this sponsored challenge to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, an ascent of 5,895 meters.
Having just had a hip replacement operation at the end of last August, I am even more determined to accomplish this Challenge on behalf of ChallengeAid. I recently huffed and puffed my way up the Welsh Three Peaks in a dawn to dusk challenge! Having recovered from it I am now back in training to achieve a reasonable level of fitness in time for Kilimanjaro.
As a group we will spend a day visiting some of the ChallengeAid projects, particularly the Schools of Hope in the slums of Nairobi immediately before the climb. We will be undertaking another climb in June 2014 if you've missed the opportunity this year.
The aim of ChallengeAid is to take children out of poverty through education in some of the slums of Nairobi. This unique concept is both an alternative and complementary type of education which allows many children who are unable to attend school during the day to be able to continue their studies at night through our Schools of Hope programme.
Please be as generous as possible with your sponsorship.
None of the monies raised through this challenge will be used for administrative purposes.
