Following the footsteps of Captain Sir Tom Moore
Over the next month, IC24 will be running an internal fundraising campaign to raise money for NHS Charities Together. This fundraising campaign was inspired by the late Captain Sir Tom Moore, who raised almost £33million for NHS Charities Together during the first lockdown.
Walking and running a collective 1000 miles
With the sad news of Captain Sir Tom Moore’s passing in late January, IC24 are determined to mark his memory with a fundraising campaign, inspired by his multimillion-pound fundraiser that started in his back garden. Captain Tom’s campaign was a breath of fresh air during a challenging time, and we can’t think of a better way to honour his impressive work and life than following in his footsteps.
We also hope that this internal fundraising campaign will boost morale, encourage our people to get active, all whilst raising money for some valuable charities. Between 15th March and 15th April, we’re inviting all IC24 members to come together virtually to walk or run a collective 1000 miles or 2,244,100 steps. Our people will be racking up daily steps by walking the dog, running, or taking daily leisurely walks.
Raising money for NHS Charities Together
Through NHS Charities Together, member charities collaborate on nationwide fundraising and advocacy campaigns, such as celebrating the NHS’s Birthday with the annual NHS Big Tea. NHS Charities Together also provides a national voice for NHS charities, championing key projects and themes that best enhance patient care and experience, as well as highlighting the impact that NHS charity funds make.
