Story
As people who love the wild places of Scotland into which we venture and which in return give us so much, we in IBSC are acutely aware of the impacts which centuries of deforestation have had in this country in the loss of both biodiversity and beauty. Planting and regenerating sustainable native forests restores these losses to our land and its people, and with it our ability to play our part in sustainably sinking the excess carbon dioxide which threatens both our wild places, us, our neighbours around the world and indeed the snow we ski on.
All donations go directly to the John Muir Trust automatically, directly and immediately *with the ability to add Gift Aid*. The JMT ring-fence our contributions for their Wild Woods Campaign, planting sustainable woodland and promoting regeneration on the areas of land which they own and manage. Help restore and expand native woodland in our wildest areas, enriching biodiversity and enhancing landscapes on a significant scale, connecting communities with their native woodlands and bringing lasting benefits to both nature and people. The John Muir Trust was founded as a charity in 1983 on the belief that
wild places are essential for the wellbeing of people and wildlife. The trust has since then fundraised in order to acquire and care for some of the most beautiful areas of wild land in our country, that they may be places "where nature flourishes and where the value of wildness is shared for the benefit of everyone." See here to find out more about these areas: https://www.johnmuirtrust.org/trust-land The trust is also very active in conservation education and campaigning and has become a distinct and important voice in Scotland's political landscape.
