Story
I will be “jumping in” (more like carefully wading into) a different body of water every day in July. I’m doing this to raise money for Clinks Care Farm, a non-profit social enterprise in south Norfolk. The farm offers opportunities to people with various health and/or social care issues to attend farm therapy, social care placements, work preparation placements, or educational placements. Coming to participate in farming activities at Clinks Care Farm can have an amazing positive affect on mental and physical health as the natural environment can help people with their recovery journey and develop work and social skills.
A huge part of life on the farm is centred around working as part of a welcoming and inclusive team. This is hugely important at break times. The current kitchen area has already been outgrown and now with the added pressure of coronavirus the need for more space is even more pressing. Without additional indoor space this winter Clinks Care Farm will struggle to provide a safe environment for farm helpers and volunteers to meet, have lunch and socialise. I cannot explain how much everyone at the farm benefits from and looks forward to these social moments.
With fundraising events planned for this summer having to be cancelled the Friends of Clinks Care Farm are running short on time to raise the full £10,000 needed. Please help to ensure this vital piece of work can be finished as soon as possible. Thank you!
