Story
I met Kevin Webber back in 2017, just after my recovery from Prostate Cancer. Kev is one of the most inspirational human beings I have ever met. Despite having a terminal cancer diagnosis, he makes the most of every single day. Be it his incredible running and walking challenges, his inspiring talks or brilliant book (Dead Man Running), he touches lives, increases awareness and raises many thousands of pounds for Prostate Cancer UK, pretty much every single day.
On 19th April Kev and his friend John are trekking 968k from Leicester Square in London to Tipperary in Ireland, not just “because it's a long way to go”, but because 968 men die every month from prostate cancer in the UK alone.
Having offered to help the guys, I will be at their beck and call for this epic journey. As their support driver from Rugby to Liverpool, my duties will include escorting them from venue to venue, logistics, camaraderie, laundry and supervising evening refreshments(!). I also intend to run at least 100k of the route too.
Having been on my own personal journey with prostate cancer and met some amazing people like Kev, I am honoured to be involved and have the chance to raise funds and awareness for Prostate cancer UK once again.
Thank you for your support. Ian
